Desktop computers that come with a compact design are nothing new. One of the pioneers of small computers is Intel through their NUC (Next Unit of Computing) computers that show desktop components in a compact computer frame, before the branding rights and use of NUC technology were sold to ASUS.
Recently, a new technology company called Miniproca has opened pre-orders for their own compact computer offering called the Miniproca All-in-One via the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, and it shows off some pretty interesting specs.
In terms of design, it is not much different compared to the design of a NUC computer. Made of aluminum metal, it comes with dimensions of 175mm x 137mm x 55mm which makes it quite compact.
This Miniproca All-in-One computer is powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processing chip and comes with a choice of DDR4 memory and storage from 8GB, 16GB and even 32GB, while in terms of storage, users can choose to get M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD storage as large as 512GB, 1TB and also 2TB. As always, this part of the computer's memory and storage can be changed to your own preferences if you want.
The uniqueness of this Miniproca computer comes through a 7-inch touch-screen display that comes with a 4K resolution and also has a 120Hz refresh rate. The display of this screen can be raised to a vertical position, and interestingly it can be charged using a 120W charger which makes it a computer that can also be taken anywhere.
Miniproca says that the best way to use their computer is to connect the main display using an HDMI, DisplayPort or USB Type-C connection to a larger display, and to use the built-in 7-inch display as a secondary display.
Miniproca's Kickstarter page shows that they have already surpassed the amount of funding needed for the project to continue. Merka only asked for $5000, and so far, a total of $48,635 has been funded through 33 individuals, and there are still 33 days left for those interested in buying this computer to finance this project at a more affordable price.
