Netflix Now Has 277 Million Subscribers – 45% of New Subscribers Choose Plans With Ads



The Neflix subscription plan with ads was announced in 2022 with it being offered at a lower price but users will be bothered with ads like YouTube without a Premium subscription. Now Netflix says 45% of their new customers choose this plan in markets where it's offered. This is far from the prediction that the introduction of this package will have a negative impact on Netflix.



It was also revealed that the number of plan subscribers with advertisements increased by 34% in the last quarter. They now have 277.65 million subscribers which is an increase of 8.05 million new subscribers compared to the previous quarter.


The positive response to this plan with ads may be the catalyst for Netflix to end the ad-free Basic plan they previously offered. The fact is that there are a large number of customers who do not mind watching ads as long as they can reduce the cost of the subscription.


Netflix's move was later followed by other streaming services such as Disney+. In Malaysia, the plan with this advertisement is not yet offered. But don't be surprised if it is offered later because this business model is clearly successful.
