Last year, OnePlus finally admitted to the green lightsaber problem on the screens of their customers' devices because they started offering a lifetime warranty. The problem is that a line appears on the screen of the device and over time the screen will keep turning off. Recently, OnePlus announced a free screen replacement program.
This program only qualifies the OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9, and OnePlus 9R devices, which are among the four that often have green screen problems. This program also promises lifetime screen replacement. The replaced screen is also a new component that has been redesigned specifically for users in India. OnePlus also had to keep in touch with suppliers and manufacturers just to get the screen supply because most of the stock was no longer produced.
OnePlus will also thoroughly check the user's device, change the screen to a new version and will also clean the device inside and out to make it work and last longer. For now it is only offered to Indian users under the Red Cable loyalty club and may be expanded to the United States. In Malaysia, the same problem also occurs on the OnePlus 8 series and some OnePlus 9 series, but Oppo Malaysia does not offer the same program.
