OpenAI today officially announced their own search engine offering, called SearchGPT. Through it, it offers search engine support that performs real-time searches on various websites in the internet arena and displays relevant information to users.
Through SearchGPT it does not display a direct link, instead it formulates an answer to a question asked - in addition to also displaying a related link to a related page. As with ChatGPT, users can also ask follow-up questions, and it will understand the context of the query.
For now, SearchGPT is not yet open to the public, and is offered in prototype form to a limited number of users only. This search engine is powered by GPT-4, and it is said to be working with a number of content providers in displaying the search results.
With this offer, users will finally have access to "ChatGPT with real-time info support", and will no longer be subject to the use of ChatGPT which often displays old information and data.
