PM Wants 100 Biotechnology Scientists to Organize Programs in Schools to Increase Interest in STEM

Recently, our Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has suggested that the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, namely Chang Lih Kang, organize a special program to attract school students to Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology or STEM.

The Prime Minister wants 100 scientists from the field of biotechnology, organizing this program in 100 schools. Each scientist is proposed to organize a program based on a specific field. This program is said to be done once a month for two hours. If not scientists, representatives of related companies such as BioNexus are also invited to organize this program.

This idea was obtained after the Minister received information that school students in suburban and rural areas were far behind in STEM fields. This subject should not be taken lightly because it is important for the future of every student. At the moment there are still no details when scientists or representatives of related companies will start organizing programs suitable for STEM subjects.
