Researchers Develop Robots That Can Cut And Join Limbs On Their Own

For the past few years, apart from AI technology, robotics technology has been one of the technologies that has shown a very rapid improvement.

Recently, a group of robotics researchers from the Faboratory research lab at Yale University have succeeded in developing a group of robots that come with unique features, namely cutting limbs and connecting themselves with other robots.

The ability to mutilate one's own body is nothing new. For example, Lizards and lizards can cut and mutilate their own limbs to escape threats to themselves, and this concept is highlighted by Yale researchers.

They have developed a four-legged "soft" robot that can bend its body to move, and as an example given, when this robot realizes that its limbs are stuck, it can heat up the joints to "bite" one of its legs to get moving again.

These legs can be reattached later to facilitate the repair process of the robot.

In the meantime, these robots can also merge with other robots to become bigger robots, but what is strange is the example shown through a video of these robots becoming like a Human Centipede that joins the head and behind two robots. This fusion is seen to allow these robots to move across the gap between the two locations, and may have its uses in certain ways.
