Rumors Say Sony PlayStation 5 Pro Will Launch in Late 2024

Rumors about the existence of the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro began to be heard a year ago. Like the PlayStation 4 Pro, this console's mid-cycle update is expected to improve processor capabilities compared to the base model of the PlayStation 5.

According to a report by Insider Gaming, the PS5 Pro will launch in late 2024 before Christmas. In the same report, developers are said to be able to file certification and operational applications for the PS5 Pro at the end of this month, with all new games having to support the new console from September.

While the PS5 is currently the ninth-generation console winner, sales have been slowing as Sony began closing unprofitable studios and laying off workers a few months ago. The impact was also felt by PlayStation Studio staff in Malaysia.

With higher processing power, the PS5 Pro may be able to offer games at 4K 60 FPS settings more widely. At a time when the PS5 is still not able to do it consistently due to hardware specification constraints.
