The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsung's answer to the Apple Watch Ultra that was launched a few years ago. Because this watch emphasizes durability to be used during extreme events, exceptional battery capacity and a new emergency system that has never been offered before.
In terms of specifications, it comes with a round 1.5″ AMOLED screen with sapphire glass, powered by an Exynos W1000 chip, 2GB RAM memory, 32GB storage and a 590 mAh battery. This allows the Watch Ultra to operate for up to 100 hours continuously in battery saving mode or 48 hours in normal mode.
The box-shaped body uses level 4 titanium metal material that passes MIL-STD 810H standards, under diving up to 10 ATM and IP68 waterproof. It can also operate in a temperature range of -20 to 55 degrees Celsius. In fact, according to Samsung, this Wear OS 5 smartwatch can be taken up to a height of 9000 meters or down to an area as low as 500 meters below sea level.
This watch strap is made of HNBR material which according to Samsung provides comfort when worn. The coils on the strap act as a shock absorbing cushion and at the same time the HNBR material allows the wearer's skin to breathe. It is removed using a new hook system that only has one button.
The screen can reach a maximum brightness of 3000 nits. There is a night mode that changes the watch face to look reddish so it doesn't hurt the eyes. The biggest change to the Watch Ultra is that there's a new Quick Button that can be programmed to launch specific apps. If pressed for a few seconds, the emergency alarm can be activated by making a loud sound of up to 86 dB to make it easier for the wearer to be detected if they get lost.
In Malaysia, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is sold at a price of RM3399 per watch with pre-orders already available while sales open on July 24. The color choices are Dark Grey, Titanium and White.
