Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Now Used As Police Body Camera

In Malaysia we have heard about the use of body cameras for PDRM members. Until now it has not become a reality with no reason why it has been delayed. In the United States, Samsung partnered with two police departments in Missouri to test the Galaxy Z Flip phone as a body camera.

Tests carried out for six months using the Galaxy Z Flip5 found that it is compatible with being used as a body camera because it has a camera with OIS that allows recordings to be taken stably.

The device, however, has been modified to enable quick video recording by pressing a button and automatic recording when detecting police officers chasing suspects. To ensure compatibility with the task, Samsung collaborated with Visual Labs which offers body cameras for the police.

Because of the success of the pilot test, Samsung said the program will be expanded to 25 police departments in 5 states in the United States. The use of Samsung phones outside the public sector is nothing new. Previously they offered Samsung Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition and Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro Tactical Edition phones specifically for military use.
