The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 was launched a while ago as a processing chip with affordable 5G connectivity. It also focuses on improving power efficiency which puts its performance between the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chips.
It is built using 4nm technology equipped with eight CPU cores (2x Cortex-A78 cores, 6x Cortex-A55 cores). It also supports LPDDR4X RAM memory along with UFS 3.1 based internal storage. Also followed by support for displays up to FHD+ with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a camera system up to 84MP that can also record a maximum of 1080P/60FPS video.
There is also built-in 5G capability with speeds limited to 1Gbps compared to 2.5Gbps on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. Other features on this new processing chip are apTX Adaptive wireless audio codec support, WiFi 5 connectivity and bluetooth 5.1.
Qualcomm confirmed that devices powered by this processing chip will arrive before the end of the year with Xiaomi being one of the manufacturers to use it.
