In the last week, we have seen various telecommunications companies enter into agreements to acquire stakes in DNB. Moving forward, it will be split in two, where a number of telecommunications companies will remain with Digital Nasional Berhad, while some will split and form a consortium for the second 5G network.
Sharing more about it today, Digital Minister, Gobind Singh Deo stated that for now the agreement has been sealed, and the next step is to see who will develop the second network. This process is currently underway, and is expected to be announced in the near future, and is targeted before the end of the year. The MCMC is expected to touch and communicate about this matter.
It was also emphasized that no timeline has been set for now, but it is targeted that there will be steps towards it before the end of the year.
