The Sphere is one of the newest and biggest attractions in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, USA that can be seen from a distance. It is a sphere filled with screen display panels each of which comes with a 16K resolution. It is commonly used for promotional purposes of various types of products, brands and companies.
Recently, a large number of details about The Sphere have been shown and shared by NVIDIA. First is the use of LED screen display in the interior and exterior which comes with a resolution of 16Kx16K. What is more interesting is that when each of these panels is opened, these panels take up a space of 750 thousand square feet, or as much as 1.2 million LED display units.
Powering all these displays, as well as the graphics and video displayed on The Sphere's screen display is a 150 NVIDIA RTX A6000 graphics card along with other internal networking components such as NVIDIA Bluefield DPU, NVIDIA ConnectX-6 NIC and also NVIDIA DOCA software Firefly Service and also NVIDIA Rivermax.
Although The Sphere is located in Las Vegas, Sphere Studios is located in Burbank, California, and is responsible for developing the multimedia content displayed on The Sphere's displays. Sphere Studios also comes with a design similar to The Sphere, and comes with the same design and technology, just on a smaller scale than the building.
To facilitate content development, Sphere Studios also uses a Big Sky camera capable of recording content in 18K resolution so that it can be displayed directly on The Sphere screen without requiring much editing by the studio.
