Water supply in a large number of Selangor areas affected due to pollution in Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah

Air Selangor has today announced that the water supply for a large number of areas in Selangor, including the seven regions of Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor have started experiencing unscheduled water supply disruptions.

This happened because of the report about the odor pollution incident in Sungai Kundang and also Sungai Sembah today. Air Selangor has issued a statement that four water treatment plants, including Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (LRA Rantau Panjang) and Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 (LRA SSP1), Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 2 (LRA SSP2), and Air Sungai Selangor Phase 3 (LRA SSP3) has been closed for now.

Alternative aid through water tankers will be moved to the affected areas, giving priority to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers first. They have also listed the areas affected by this water cut.

Air Selangor assures that they will provide regular updates on this incident and will try to fix this issue as soon as possible.
