Windows Notepad Now Has a Spell Check Feature

The spell check feature finally started rolling out to the Windows Notepad software last weekend. Previously this feature was only given to Windows Insider users to test since last March. This is the first time since Notepad has received a spell check feature even though it has been around since 1983.

In addition to the test check, the automatic spelling change feature (autocorrect) is also given to Notepad through an update. As in Microsoft Words, misspellings will be marked with a red line. Click on this word and correct spelling suggestions will be provided. The spell check feature however is not activated when Windows detects a log file or software code is opened.

Users can turn off the automatic spell check feature if not needed through the software settings menu. Microsoft activated this feature gradually since yesterday, so Windows users have to wait in line to receive it on their PC.
