One of the less interesting things on X or formerly known as Twitter is the dumping of spam in the form of product or affiliate links - at the same time making the experience of using the platform less interesting than in the past.
Now, in an effort to overcome the problem of spam, X is seen to be developing a new feature that will prevent the sharing of links in response to every "tweet" on the platform.
Through this feature, the owner of the original "tweet" or share can choose whether to allow links on their replies, or turn them off. If turned off, then no links will be allowed on replies below the original share.
For now, it is not known yet when this feature will be officially introduced. While it can turn off spammy sharing, it may also lead to problems, where other users may find it difficult to correct a fact by providing a real news link for a sharing that blocks the link in a reply.
