Adobe Magic Fixup Makes Complicated Editing Processes Easier

I went to university to study digital art more than two decades ago. While in college Photoshop was my favorite software because it was the most useful especially in web development and digital works. Dozens of given features need to be mastered before a solid work can be produced and often editing photos is the most complicated.

Adobe Research has published their latest study called Magic Fixup. Through Magic Fixup, image editing that was previously complicated can be simplified as well as accelerated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).

With Magic Fixup images can be edited with Copy and Paste features only and it will automatically change other areas of the picture according to the changes made. In the given example the reflection image of the tree on the water surface is changed automatically after the direction of the tree is changed by the user. Then the lion's head can be modified with the Transform tool with the empty space where the head was cut filled by Magic Fixup.

Magic Fixup is unique because the AI is trained using datasets in the form of videos instead of static images. Because it understands the context of the changes that occur when objects move, it can make changes to static images more realistically than models trained using pictures.
