One of the cloud technology providers in Malaysia includes Alibaba Cloud which is also actively promoting local technology talent. To date they have trained more than 20,000 local people in the field of cloud technology. Today Alibaba Cloud announced their latest commitment to local citizens through the launch of the Digital Accelerator Program.
This accelerator program is a continuation of the previous program, and this time focuses on three aspects. First they will expand digital training and will establish Alibaba Cloud Academy Skill Centers at least in 5 local universities by 2025. This is an extension of the collaboration between Alibaba Cloud and Universiti Malaya, and will now be opened to more educational institutions.
Through the establishment of this academy, students and educators will learn cloud technologies such as AI generation, cyber security, data analytics and many more. They also aim for up to 10,000 students to receive Alibaba Cloud certification in this field. In addition, Alibaba Cloud will also expand their digital training outside the Klang Valley such as Penang, Sarawak and Sabah.
For startups, Alibaba Cloud also aims to train more than 500 startups by the end of 2025. Eligible startups will receive funds and support worth up to USD 120,000 to support their digitization process and growth. Selected startups will also participate in presentations at the Alibaba Cloud Demo Days event at a time to be determined.
Through this agenda as well, Alibaba Cloud will collaborate with 50 local software vendors (ISVs) in empowering cloud technology especially in AI Generation. Through this collaboration, Alibaba Cloud and ISV aim to help as many as 1000 PMKS to digitize their industry.
With the introduction of the Digital Accelerator Program by Alibaba Cloud which targets the rapid growth of local technology talent by the end of 2025, it is seen to fuel the use of cloud technology and also AI among local people.
