With the transition of various companies and products in using generated artificial intelligence to power their respective products, Amazon is also seen not wanting to be left behind in offering updates to Alexa.
Alexa is a virtual assistant that Amazon offers through their devices. It is already awaited by many for the new Alexa powered by artificial intelligence, while making it easier for users to chat and communicate in normal spoken language to get information or make purchases and so on.
Now, it's being reported that Amazon may partner with Anthropic and use Claude AI to power the next-generation Alexa. Amazon is also expected to charge a small usage fee for this new generation of Alexa, while at the same time keeping the "classic" virtual assistant free.
It is said that Amazon is ready to develop their own model, but it is having problems in further optimizing it – thus choosing to use Claude AI.
For information, Amazon was previously ready to invest in Anthropic. Amazon is expected to introduce this new generation of Alexa by this September.
