AMD Will Come With Update To Fix Sinkclose Vulnerability For Ryzen 3000

Recently we have reported that AMD is currently facing the issue of Sinkclose security vulnerability on their own CPU series which allows hackers to attack and steal data from computers through the CPU itself.

AMD previously said that they would only update the AMD Ryzen 5000 desktop CPU series and the AMD Ryzen 4000 laptop CPU series and above regarding this issue, but now it seems to have said that the AMD Ryzen 3000 series of processing chips will be added to the list of processing chip series that will receive the update.

According to AMD, this microcode update will begin to be released starting today, August 20, 2024, but did not confirm how this update will be released to users. Chances are it may be similar to how motherboards introduce software updates for their motherboards.

As we said before as well, this vulnerability is difficult to access because of the many steps that need to be taken to exploit it. But for AMD, closing this vulnerability is important because if it is actually exploited, no user or software will realize that the data on their computer is about to be stolen.
