Apple and Samsung brands continue to gain popularity and dominate the list of top 10 best-selling smartphones in Q2 2024 according to Counterpoint Research's latest report. Through it Apple is seen maintaining the number of places in the list with four iPhone models listed. Meanwhile there was a decrease in the position held by Samsung when only five devices compared to six devices were listed in Q2 2023.
Another spot has been taken by the Redmi 13C 4G device this time showing Xiaomi making an impressive comeback after almost two consecutive quarters of the list being completely dominated by Apple and Samsung devices.
In terms of the position of iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro are seen as the best in this quarter when they are in the top three with sales holdings of 4.1%, 3.7% and 3.1% respectively. This was followed by the base class device Samsung Galaxy A15 5G (2.0%) in fourth place and the Galaxy A15 4G (1.8%) in fifth place.
Then a decline was seen for the iPhone 14 which ranked sixth with a sales share of 1.6% compared to 4.2% in Q2 2023. On the list are the Samsung Galaxy A55 (1.5%) which is ranked seventh, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (1.4%) and Samsung Galaxy A05 (1.4%) is in tenth place.
A drop in position is again seen for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra which was ranked eighth in Q2 2023. It may seem contrary to the trend of a premium device but the launch held relatively early in the year may have changed some of the sales before this.
Xiaomi is the only other brand on the list to make a comeback through the Redmi 13C 4G model with a 1.5% sales share. What device are you using now and is it on the list above?
