One of the most important parts of Apple's device and software ecosystem is their Apple App Store app store, which has been developed with love, and is well cared for by Apple.
Now, after a long time leading the App Store division, Matt Fischer, one of the vice presidents leading the App Store division, will reportedly resign his position and leave Apple this October. This was reported by Bloomberg which has received confirmation about it from several Apple employees who did not want to be named.
Not only that, this App Store section will be divided into two, where one is the Apple App Store section, and the other will be responsible for the introduction of alternative application warehouses that will be introduced in the European market soon.
Matt Fischer has worked at Apple for 21 years, and for 10 of those years, he was among the individuals responsible for developing the Apple App Store into the giant app store it is today, and among the most profitable parts of Apple.
Phil Schiller who heads the App Store division has made the decision to split this group because of European Union legislation that forces Apple to allow the offering of application warehouses and also alternative payment methods.
Replacing Matt Fischer is Carson Oliver, who will take over Matt Fischer's position directly for the App Store group, while Ann Thai, who was previously responsible for developing features such as search in the App Store will be responsible for Apple's alternative app store.
For access to download and use this alternative app store, you need to use an iPhone device with the iOS 17.4 operating system and need to be physically located in any European Union country. Attempting to use a VPN to download this app store will not work.
