Apple Finally Opens NFC Access To Third Parties For Cashless Payments

Apple has NFC and Secure Element (SE) features that allow cash payments to be made but only through Apple Pay and Apple Wallet. But with the latest iOS 18.1 beta coming soon, Apple has finally given flexibility and allowed developers to use APIs for NFC and SE in their apps.

With this action of pressing the power button twice to launch Apple Pay can now be used to launch other payment applications. In addition, ID cards, driver's licenses and digital hotel keys can also be integrated on third-party applications. If you want before it can only be done using Apple Wallet.

Developers will be able to access the API through the iOS 18.1 developer beta that will be released later. Currently the feature is limited to developers in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the United Kingdom only with plans to expand it to other countries in the future.
