In the early stages of its existence, the Apple Watch was offered with an aluminum body, stainless steel and even gold plating before arriving with a titanium version on the Ultra. Now according to a Bloomberg report, the new Apple Watch SE will be launched with a body made of plastic.
This is because the new Apple Watch SE will target use among children and with a plastic body it can be offered in more cheerful colors. This is similar to what was done on the iPhone 5C series over 10 years ago. At the same time this watch can be offered at a more affordable price while increasing sales.
As a father, I am very excited about this announcement because I have been looking for an alternative to the Apple Watch for a long time to give to my children at school. The existing Apple Watch is too expensive to give to elementary school kids. Smart watches for children on the market do not support the Apple ecosystem and the design is less attractive.
