So why are a printer? Because although the government wants to realize the dream of the Nirkertas community since 1996, printed documents are still needed in many situations. As many as a SME company, it often need to print important documents when dealing with companies, customers and the embassy. The printer used in the office is quite old (purchased before a pandemic) and when Canon gives me the opportunity to comment on Maxify GX2070 I continue to volunteer to try it.

Maxify GX2070 is not just a printer. It is a 4-in-1 machine that combines printer, photocopy, fax and scanner. All of these are the necessary features for a small business or those who work from home. The design will not make you shout "WOW" or futuristic but it is what I can label as functional.

The rectangular shape with a rounded side and has several doors that cover the open space when they are not used. This is important because even though I say a machine like this is necessary for an SME, it is not used daily. With the presence of close cover door, dust and cats at home cannot damage the internal components

At the top there are up to 35 pieces of paper to speed up the scan or photostat process. This auto feeder is supporting A4, LGL and Letter sized paper. There is no need to open the closing door every time a new sheet of document wants to scan.

I must admit that it does not need this feature but canon also offers it for those who regularly complain about the process of scanning/photocopying various documents. The mechanisms used are the same as you often see on the giant photocopying machines in the store while they are still studying.

If you do not want to use an automatic feed, the top can be opened to disclose the scanner panel. Although the top of the Maxify GX2070 is a bit heavy, it is still easy to open and comes with a large hinge so there is no concern for the long durability of Dis.

In front of a 2.7 ″ LCD screen that supports the touch and has a hinge that allows the point of view to change. Various Maxify GX2070 functions are accessible through this panel including accessing stored personal settings. On the front panel is also a power button, home, back, starting a colored photostat, starting a monochrome photocopies and stopping the process.

I don't know if you used to use photocopies used in stores or not. But while in college I took a part -time job at a printing store. The interface used on the Maxify GX2070 is the same as I used on the commercial printer in the store. I don't need to read the manual because the memory uses it is still in the head. This I consider it an advantage as it does not have to learn how to use each Maxify GX2070 functionality.

Next to the control panel is a door that stores four boxes of blue, yellow, red and black ink. From the front can be seen the remaining level of ink fluid. I don't need to think that the ink is over because it can be clearly seen. The ink can be refilled using an additional ink kit in the form of a bottle.

Next at the bottom there is a storage of up to 250 pieces of A4 -sized paper. The maximum amount that can be included in the cartridge depends on its size. The same cartridge can only place up to 20 pieces of photo paper for example for those who want to print pictures on shiny paper. In front of this storage there is a plastic window that makes it easy to see the remaining paper without being pulled out.

250 pieces of paper in the cartridge are the capacity that I feel is satisfactory but it is best to store 500 pieces of A4 paper. This is because each A4 paper rim sold on the market contains 500 sheets of paper. I'm sure many users do not have time to count up to 250 pieces of paper. So throughout the review I played the thickness of the paper that was put in the cartridge.

Behind there is a power plug, two input/output for phone cable, one LAN port and access panel for maintenance. While combining four of its Maxify GX2070 designs is still compact compared to the same features I have used before.

Use and software

The printer has a reputation that is difficult to use, headache and headache. So if you start with the X brand, the next machine is also the X brand because it is a bit of a study to learn all the ways to use it. I am very familiar with the Canon machine because it has been used since 1998. So I have the advantage of understanding the software provided.

As a challenge I told a Gen Industry trainer to try to print some of the documents in the office. I just give a link to software for computers and smartphones. First of all Maxify GX2070 can still be used on Mac computers without Canon's special software. Documents can be printed, scanned and photographed without any issues.

What I can't test is a fax feature because a) never used it and b) I don't know who the fax wants to send because no one I know is still using this feature. Fax features are still included in the Maxify GX2070 for markets like Japan.

The software used on the phone is Canon Print and the desktop is the Canon Inkjet Smart Connect. Both software provide better and detailed controls than software available on Windows and MacOS computers. I suggest that it is used especially if you want to use the rear print mode supported by this machine.

The prints produced are satisfactory and better quality than deskjet printing machines. The time to print the colored and monochrome documents is also a quick up to 15 pages a minute that saves you time when you want to print the documents with a thick page.

I just tested the Maxify GX2070 and during that time I did not need to regenerate ink in the tank. Canon says in normal mode up to 4500 pages can be printed with one full tank. The machine can also print 27,000 pages a month before it needs to be maintained. Each ink refill bottle is priced at RM54 a bottle while the maintenance cartridge is priced at RM88. For the number of printable pages, I think the cost of refilling this machine is worth it.

In the box

Here is what is received with every purchase of a device in Malaysia.

1x Maxify GX2070.

1x three -pin power plug cable.

1x USB-A cable to USB-B.

1x phone cable

4x ink bottle

1x manual.

Conclusion

I acknowledge that at the beginning of this review that never owned a printer for SME use. But after using the Maxify GX2070 I can say if I have my own small company and need a 4-in-1 printer at home, it's my choice. Printing Quickly, Cymk ink systems that can be replaced separately (unlike RGB Deskjet printer RGB cartridge), the built -in system scans documents with many pages automatically, photostat mode support and even faxes.

The possible shortcomings are the sale price of RM1950 each. But ROI for cheap ink makes the initial cost of it feels cheap for the long term. Plus as I said above it is a multi -job machine required for a small office. Therefore, we have no problem recommending the Canon Maxify GX2070 to readers.
