Chromebook Production Rises In Q2 2024 – HP With Biggest Hold

Most recent reports show increased production growth for various technology devices in Q2 2024. It includes Chromebooks experiencing a surge with year-over-year growth of 4% and over 6 million units of the device shipped worldwide.

This performance is driven by regional specific funding package programs and offers that act as access to education to help students. Followed by discounts given by sellers for various ranges of Chromebooks especially those that have needs for learning purposes.

HP, Lenovo and Acer are the top three competitors in the Chromebook market. Commenting further HP was in first place recording a growth of 6.7% year-on-year with shipments of 1.7 million units and a market share of 28%. Next followed by Lenovo with the shipment of 1.5 million units which also saw year-on-year growth of 9% in the same period.

Meanwhile Acer is third on the list with the biggest sales growth of 16.8% compared to others. It sold 1.2 million units of the device for a 19% market share. Dell and ASUS ranked fourth and fifth respectively with both experiencing year-over-year shipment declines.

Canalys predicts a decline in production in Q3 2024 but the overall trend will remain positive as more and more Chromebooks integrated with AI capabilities are offered from now on.
