In Malaysia, corn fritters and chicken nuggets are common food in movie theaters. Before that kuaci, oranges, corn and fresh fruits were offered but now they are disappearing in the main cities. For those looking for something different and a new experience, Dadi Cinemas will soon open the first movie theater in Malaysia that offers a steamboat cooking station on every audience seat.
Based on sharing on social media, this first theater is located at Dadi Cinemas Pavillion KL and it offers a menu offered by Shu Daxia Hot Pot, a chain of Chinese food steamboat shops. Each audience seat will have a steamboat stove with various foods that can be boiled provided in a box-shaped container.
Personally we are not fans of hot and smoky food when watching movies in theaters. But since Dadi Cinemas is from China, they might want to cater to customers who want to enjoy the latest movies in theaters with the country's original food.
This is quite an interesting development because the reason why pickles are no longer offered in movie theaters is because of their strong smell but now strong smelling steamboats are coming back. But if Japanese and Western food can be offered in a premium stage, traditional Chinese cuisine is also offered.
