ElevenLabs is one of the companies that focuses on the development of generative artificial intelligence technology. Among the popular features offered is voice generation or voice cloning. Their technology has been used by Qalbox and Rabbit R1. Most recently, they have expanded the offering of the Reader application that can read text in various voice styles.
Reader was launched last June, but was limited to iOS in the US, UK and Canada. Recently it has been widely offered for all iOS and Android users. With this application, users can upload any text-based content such as PDF documents or digital books and even articles. The text will then be read by a generative AI-generated voice.
Among the voices that can be used are celebrities such as Judy Garland, James Dean, Burt Reynolds and Sir Laurence Olivier. Supported languages are Portuguese, Spanish, French, Hindi, German, Japanese, Arabic, Korean, Italian, Tamil and Swedish. Reader is powered by Turbo v2.5 model with low lag and better audio quality. In the future, ElevenLabs will support offline access.
