The Epic Games Store launches for iOS and brings Fortnite back into the hands of the popular first-person shooter on the Apple platform. This is the first time Fortnite is back on the iPhone after the app was pulled in 2020 after Epic Games dared to offer payments outside of the App Store in violation of Apple's terms and conditions.
As a result Epic Games sued Apple and so far it has not been resolved. However we have some bad news for the majority of Fortnite fans on iOS as at this point the Epic Games Store is only offered to users in the European Union (EU). As we previously reported, Apple only allows third-party app stores in the EU to meet the DMA act in member countries.
For fans outside the EU, the wait will continue as Apple has already said third-party stores will not be offered to other markets. In March, the Epic Games developer account was suspended causing the development of the Epic Games Store to hang. It seems that the application was successfully launched as well despite facing various obstacles.
