Not to be missed early this morning was the launch of Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 which this time is equipped with a Tensor A1 chip that provides better audio capabilities, location tracking through Find My Device and better noise cancellation (ANC) capabilities.
From a design point of view it still maintains the same design as the Pixel Buds Pro on the pod side but on the audio bud it has a rotating mechanism to "lock" it into the ear. According to Google this new design was chosen after looking at data from 45 million human ears.
There is support for interacting with Gemini only with voice control. Improvements have also been made to the internal components with ANC said to be twice as good. The battery used can offer up to 8 hours of use with ANC or 12 hours without. With the help of a charging pod, it increases to 30 hours with ANC and 40 hours without.
The earphones can be tracked using Find My Device so they will sound even with both audio buds in the storage pod. This makes the tracking feature similar to that supported on AirPods Pro 2. Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 is sold for $229 (~RM1019) in Porcelain, Hazel, Wintergreen, and Peony colors. It is listed on Google Store Malaysia but the selling price has not yet been announced.
