Google Will No Longer Release Chromecast

Google in 2013 introduced Chromecast, allowing users to connect it to a television and stream content from a smartphone directly to the television. However, with the development of the era, now Google announced that it will no longer release a new Chromecast.

Google sees no more need to sell Chromecast, due to the development of the television arena and the various uses of smart televisions in the market. With televisions now having basic streaming functionality, Google figured there was no longer a need for a Chromecast offering.

Google will deplete existing Chromecast stock, and it is expected that support for it will continue for the time being. However, instead of the device, Google now offers the Google TV Streamer – a box that can be connected to a television screen, and used to stream content.
