Google Will No Longer Release Fitbit Smartwatches

Fitbit is a well-known premium health tracker brand. They also offer a wide selection of smart watches. Since being taken over by Google in 2021, various changes have taken place such as no more smartwatches and only the Charge 6 health tracker and the Ace LTE children's watch. Then 1000 workers were fired and withdrew from the Malaysian market. When the Pixel 9 was launched in Malaysia, many must have wondered why they still accept Fitbit Premium subscriptions if Fitbit is no longer in Malaysia.

This is because, since the Pixel Watch launched – Fitbit has been integrated directly. Fitbit's core features are now born inside the Pixel Watch and because of that this watch requires two apps, Fitbit and Pixel Watch. That's not all, with the Pixel Watch being Google's flagship watch product – Engadget reports that Google will no longer produce watches for Fitbit. This means no more Fitbit Verse and Sense, instead the Pixel Watch is the replacement. Then below Fitbit there will be only health trackers that focus on battery life. The Pixel Watch is a new generation of Fitbit watches.

Pixel Watch 3 is sold in Malaysia at a starting price of RM1849 and can only be purchased on September 10. Although this watch is officially sold, the one-year warranty provided does not qualify the watch for repair if damaged as Google will only replace it with a replacement unit or sell the replacement unit at a discounted price.
