Government Studying Proposals To Develop Social Media Specifically For Malaysians



The Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil has now shared that the government will examine and study the proposal to create social media specifically for the use of Malaysians. This is said because social media companies such as Facebook that make a profit of $600 million from Malaysia, but do not ensure the condition and safe use of the platform.


Before this itself, it is said that several countries have tried the same thing. One of the people who suggested this was Datuk Aznil Nawawi. For now, this matter is just a suggestion, and it is not yet known whether the government will take its development seriously, or vice versa.


In addition, it is also emphasized that children under the age of 13 cannot use social media – in line with legislation in various countries, and settings on several social media platforms.
