In conjunction with the opening of their headquarters in Bandar Utama, GX Bank today also introduced the company's latest initiative called GX Untuk Semua.
This initiative is in line with the Malaysian government's KL20 aspirations to make the country one of the top 20 global startup hubs. With this GX For All Initiative, GX Bank will invest as much as RM1.5 billion over the next five years with the aim of leading the transformation of the banking and digital finance industry through the development of technology and also new talent.
The opening ceremony of GX Bank's headquarters in Malaysia was attended by Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo and Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Malaysia, together with Anthony Tan, CEO and founder of Grab and Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan, chairman of GX Bank.
Speaking about the development of new talents, Gigih, GXBank provides scholarships to 1,200 recipients in Kelantan and Johor through the financial inclusion initiative Impian Gigih. GXBank is working with local universities and has set up Persistent Dream Scholarships to nurture local talent and will share more concerted efforts under each hub in the coming months.
Chairman of GXBank, Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan said "With the support of a talented workforce comprising more than 95% of Malaysians, GXBank moves forward in addressing the real financial needs of every Malaysian."
This announcement was also made after GX Bank confirmed that they had a total of 750 thousand users at the end of July 2024 and made as many as 13 million transactions using GX Bank cards and QR scans.
