Instagram is currently experimenting with a new feature that aims to provide a better experience watching Reels content. This feature is a full screen mode that will remove all interface (UI) elements from the screen while watching Reels so that the user can fully focus on the video content. This was shared by an Instagram user on Threads.
To activate this full screen display mode, users just need to long press on the screen while watching Reels. Tests of this latest update are seen to eliminate visual disturbances on the screen. From another aspect, this step can also be considered as Instagram's effort to compete with TikTok which already offers similar functions.
However, it should be remembered that this feature is still in the testing phase and is only available to a small number of Instagram users. If, this feature is seen to be effective and gets a good response from the average user, Instagram will definitely give this feature to everyone.
