A new report from Bloomberg says that Apple will launch the iPhone 17 "Air" with a thinner body design. The device will target users who want to use a less powerful device without the best camera but with a more attractive thin design.
It's the same product as the iPad Air and MacBook Air that still offers a good experience even without the flagship components and specifications. In other words it can be seen as a "mid-range" device from Apple. Why it is offered is a bit strange because if you look at the sales of the iPhone 15 last year, the Pro model sold better with not many choosing to buy the iPhone 15 because it is equipped with an older processor.
Based on personal experience, in Malaysia many people are more willing to buy the Pro model last year than to buy the normal model this year because it is seen as more valuable but still has high specifications. At the same time what is the difference with the new iPhone SE which is also marketed as an affordable version. The answer will only be known if the iPhone 17 Air becomes a reality next year.
