Kaspersky Labs Provides Additional Details on US Market Issues

Earlier we reported that Kaspersky Labs, a computer security company from Russia has been banned from selling and updating their security software to ordinary users in the United States.

This happened after a few years when initially the government bodies of the country were not allowed to use the software on their computers. Starting July 20, 2024, Kaspersky announced that they will leave the country's market completely.

At the Kaspersky Cyber Security Week event, Adrian Hia, Managing Director of Kaspersky Asia Pacific answered a question regarding this matter, where he said that it is true that Kaspersky Labs is currently not allowed to sell their security products to any party in the United States, and the decision this doesn't seem like it's going to be turned around anytime soon so far.

Even so, he said that the companies can still sell their securities reports to securities entities in the country, as they have done before. Kaspersky Labs is still an important security company with a broad view in the digital security sector.

Not only that, for United States business entities based abroad, they are also allowed to use Kaspersky security products for now. So, yes, even though Kaspersky Labs is seen to be losing a fairly large market, it doesn't really disrupt the overall operation of the security company.
