Logitech Considers Buy-One-Use-A-Lifetime Mouse Offer With Subscription

My favorite mouse brand is Logitech and the model I use is MX Master 3s. I've been using this mouse for over two years and it's one of the best I've ever used. Recently, Logitech CEO Hanneke Faber shared with The Verge that they are considering a disposable mouse forever.

The Logitech team in Ireland has developed a new mouse that is slightly heavier than other Logitech mice. This mouse is for the premium product category and it is designed to last longer by providing update support. Purchasers may be charged a monthly subscription to cover the cost of software updates. Logitech wants to generate revenue by offering new features and functions through software only.

Another idea that Hanneke Faber explained is to generate income with each mouse that can be replaced with a new unit and this used unit will be recycled or restored for resale. It is a strategy that can not only generate income but also avoid electronic waste dumping. For now it is just a concept they are considering and there are no plans to introduce it in the near future. What do you think of this Logitech idea?
