Maybank today started introducing a new feature to users of the MAE application, where when the application is run, it will automatically scan for any malware or risk on the device's settings, and then display a notification or warning screen and obstacles to the user.
This step is in line with the recent announcement of the banking association, besides at the same time protecting the users from any unwanted banking experience.
Through the Maybank page, the MAE application will display warnings and obstacles on the device when it is opened if there is any application in the form of malicious software or malware. The warning display will also list the applications involved, and the user will need to remove the related applications before being able to continue using MAE.
In addition, MAE will also display a warning if you activate features such as Developer Mode or Accessibility Mode, where the feature may be activated unknowingly by the user, leading to the risk of third-party attacks.
Maybank stated that this new security feature will be introduced to all MAE application users in stages starting today.
