When talking about rugged devices what comes to mind is thick and big size. But the story is different with the new Motorola Edge 50 device that was launched recently. Where it is not only thin but passes the MIL-STD 810H shock resistance standards used by the military.
The Motorola Edge 50 is equipped with a 1.5K 6.7″ pOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition chip, 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. This is paired with a main 50MP (f/1.8) + 13MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide + 10MP (f/2.0) telephoto and 32MP (f/2.4) selfie camera system.
The battery is 5000mAh which supports 68W wired and 15W wireless charging. Other functions that are also provided are stereo speakers (Dolby Atmos), 3.5mm audio jack, bluetooth 5.1, NFC and Wi-Fi 6E connection. Motorola also promises to update two versions of the operating system and three years for security. In India the Motorola Edge 50 is sold at INR27,999 (~RM1,509) apiece.
