Procreate will not introduce any features that use generative artificial intelligence (AI) in their released products. In an official statement published on the site, Procreate says generative AI is built from "stolen works" and leads us to a "barren future".
Therefore generative AI technology will not be offered on products with it being seen as a more interesting and beneficial step for their software user community. In addition, Procreate will also not access the artwork created by the user and respects privacy with the user's activities will not be tracked.
The decisions taken by Procreate are completely different from those made by Canva and Adobe. Both companies introduced various generative AI features over the past year. Adobe for example received criticism from the art community because the TOS page said user works stored in the cloud would be used to train AI models so they had to issue a disclaimer.
