Real Wakanda Construction In Senegal May Be Cancelled

Singer born in Senegal, Akon announced the construction of Akon City in 2020 which he says will be a high-tech center on the African continent. It is said to be the Wakanda of the real world by using fully sustainable energy and trading through the cryptocurrency Akoin. Four years have passed but the construction of the $6 billion Akon City has yet to begin and now it may have been canceled outright.

The Senegalese government that gave the land for the construction of Akon City will reportedly take it back because the Akon City operators failed to start the project as promised. Akon's company also failed to make payments as agreed with the government.

According to the original plan, the construction should have started in 2023 and the construction of this state-of-the-art city will be completed by 2028. The electrical power needs are generated entirely using solar panels. In the first phase residences, film studios, offices for technology companies, a hospital and a solar power station will be built. In addition, another Akon City is also planned in Uganda and like Akon City in Senegal it is also still stalled three years after it was announced.
