Reddit is partnering with Google and OpenAI for the development of artificial intelligence technology. For example licensing data to Google to train AI and content will be integrated into ChatGPT. Most recently, TechCrunch reported that Reddit will test a search feature with AI around the end of the year.
This AI search will include search results that have been formulated and will also suggest content to the user. It will also allow users to explore various communities and content that may be difficult to find with normal search methods. This new search feature will use its own technology as well as from third parties.
Reddit is also reportedly testing the feature of translating content into foreign languages to promote their platform globally. It is currently uncertain when the generative AI feature will be fully integrated into Reddit.
