Shein Files Suit Over Dating – Alleging Copyright Infringement

The company focuses on offering clothing at very competitive prices, Shein, is now filing a lawsuit against Temu, saying Temu has infringed copyright, and has also stolen Shein's clothing designs in developing the Temu platform.

The suit was filed in a court in the United States. Temu is also said to lead users to download and buy using very low prices, making Temu not generate any profit – instead subsidizing each purchase, thus leading to a loss of money on each transaction. Temu was also found not to control its sellers from infringing the copyright of other parties, as well as selling counterfeit goods through the platform.

Shein in the same suit also stated that Temu once impersonated Shein on social media in stealing customers and taking them from the Shein platform to Temu.

The competition between the two platforms also leads each to blame the other, in order to gain market share. Apart from between platforms, some big brands have also complained that there are counterfeit designs sold through related platforms.

With this development, let's all look forward to how the trial will go and who will win the suit.
