Qualcomm officially announced the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip this morning with it being a 4nm chip placed below the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. It is equipped with a Kryo CPU that offers up to 20% CPU performance improvement, 40% faster GPU and AI performance increased by up to 30%. compared to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is also equipped with eight CPU cores with a configuration of one Prime core at a speed of 2.5GHZ, three Performance cores at a speed of 2.4GHz and four Efficiency cores at a speed of 1.8GHz. Overall the chip offers up to 12% power savings. Up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM can be used with it being matched to UFS 3.1 storage.
Through the included NPU, 7s Gen 3 can run AI models such as Baichuan-7B, and Llama 2 1B directly from the device. The ISP capability allows it to support cameras up to 200MP and record 4K HDR video. The supported screen is up to FHD+ 144Hz. The first manufacturer to use Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is Xiaomi.
