Starlink Bank Account Blocked In Brazil To Force X To Pay Fines

Yesterday we reported that Brazil wants to block the X service because the social media platform refuses to follow the country's government order to filter the content displayed. As a sign of protest, Elon Musk closed their Latin American office.

Yesterday Brazilian High Court judge Alexandre de Moraes issued a new order to have Starlink's account in Brazil blocked as a measure to force X to pay fines for the offenses committed. Brazil instructed X to censor content found to violate national laws and said free speech rights in their country differed from the United States.

Starlink issued a statement saying the order blocking their accounts was unconstitutional and would challenge it through Brazilian courts.
