Telegram this year started helping their users generate income from 50% of the income of advertisements displayed in Telegram Channels. Most recently, the owners of Channels can now charge people a fee if they want to join the Channel.
Through Star subscription, Channel owners can activate the pay feature to join their channel through a link. These links can be set for the number of users, time limits and can also require administrator approval to join. This feature to offer loyal users of any Channel access to additional content, receive early access to exclusive content, early access to media and even VIP live broadcasts.
Star reactions are like TikTok where users can buy stars to send to the channel owner as a sign of support. Users who send the most Stars will also be displayed in a special ranking chart. Paid Media for Bots was also introduced to generate income through content sent by bots such as paying 5 Stars to view pictures.
Super Channels is also an interesting feature because it allows Channel owners to send messages as a private profile. Lastly is the Document Viewer on iOS which allows users to view documents through the Telegram Browser from within the application without opening another application. For income, Telegram does not take any commission at all and Channel owners will receive 100%. Those who spend money to promote Channels are eligible to receive a 30% subsidy from advertising revenue.
All these features have been made available in iOS and Android through new updates on App Store and Play Store.
