Mark Zuckerberg today shared that Threads continues to show an increase in active users from day to day. After sharing that Threads had 175 million monthly active users at the beginning of July 2024, now through the latest financial statements, Mark Zuckerberg shared that Threads is now approaching 200 million monthly active users.
Threads was previously launched last year with the aim of rivaling Twitter. It was introduced with integration through Instagram, and quickly reached high user numbers on launch day. However, after that, it experienced a slight decline in terms of active users.
But, day by day, Threads now has its own fans and communities that actively use it. By approaching the number of 200 million monthly active users, it simultaneously shows that Threads will be another giant social media application, and is getting closer to the number of active users of X or Twitter led by Elon Musk.
Could it be that within a year we'll see Threads' user figures overtake X completely?
