TikTok rolled out a new feature today that allows users to have group conversations via Group Chat with up to 32 users. With this messaging feature, users can share videos with a group of friends more easily.
As a security measure, this feature is not provided to TikTok users under 15 years of age. For other teenage users, they can only be invited into a group by known friends. They also need to confirm they want to enter the group manually. Filtering words and muting users can also be used to control conversations.
Another new feature introduced by TikTok is sticker support in the Direct Message feature. With stickers the message can be conveyed more clearly by just sending the sticker to the recipient.
