Twitch Tests AI Feature That Warns Before Sending Nasty Messages

The world of video games is terrible. Just look at the viral sharing of message content on Discord or Twitch. Who doesn't get angry when they lose a game and then want to get angry and blame someone else? To curb the problem of cyberbullying, various unwanted distractions and nasty message spam – Twitch is testing an AI warning feature before messages are sent.

According to Twitch they use machine learning, a term I haven't used in a long time since I was familiar with artificial intelligence. Either way, after a user types a nasty message full of profanity – Twitch will issue a warning saying the message is bad and the user still has a chance to stop it. Even so, if stubborn the message can still be sent.

It is a step to bring awareness to the sender of the message. It's quite difficult for Twitch to continue to block all texts that have obscene content because it is a platform that has special messaging features to discuss or express something about any video game session.
