Two new devices Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro have been officially launched in India just now. It offers exciting upgrades while retaining the ZEISS camera system. It is also given a new breath for a design that appears simple but elegant enough in its class.
Vivo V40 Pro uses a 6.78″ FHD+ curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is then powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chip with a memory option of 8/12GB RAM and internal storage up to 512GB. In addition to also running the latest Funtouch OS 14 Global software built on Android 14 for an enhanced user experience.
A 50MP tri-sensor (ZEISS) is used on the back with capabilities for main, ultra-wide and telephoto portraits (2X optical & 50X digital zoom). This is followed by a 50MP front camera for selfies. The battery is 5,500 mAh which supports 80W fast charging. In addition to having an IP68 waterproof rating, NFC and stereo speakers.
Vivo V40 is also equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz screen. This is combined with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, memory up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage as the mainstay. Then the latest launcher Funtouch OS 14 Global built based on Android 14 is also used as a complement.
No telephoto camera is provided instead the device only packs a 50MP dual-sensor (ZEISS) for prime and ultra-wide capabilities. Selfies can be taken using the 50MP front camera. A 5,500 mAh battery is also provided with it supporting 80W wired charging. Other specifications are IP68 waterproof, stereo speakers and bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
In India the device is sold starting at ₹34,999 (~RM1,870) for the V40 model. Meanwhile, the V40 Pro starts at ₹ 49,999 (~RM2,671) each. Earlier Vivo also confirmed the presence of both devices for the Malaysian market but the question of whether the specifications are similar or otherwise is still unknown so far.
